CHOOSE KINDNESS, TODAY!

BY: OGUNTOLA RASHEEDAT

Kindness is not always to be shown through material things. More often than not, the simplest forms of kindness lie in the little  things we do, such as a smile, a compliment, a prayer, or a word of encouragement. They may seem simple to us, but they can mean the world to someone else.

Rarely do we know what people are going through, unless they decide to share it. A harsh word can add to that burden, but a kind word can ease it. Because of this, choosing kindness matters - it can make life a little lighter for those around us.

Think of kindness as charity. And the most affordable charity we can give is through our words. Speaking gently, offering encouragement, or choosing silence instead of hurtful remarks doesn’t cost a dime, yet it brings priceless comfort.

So, choose kindness today. Be kind to a friend, a stranger, or even someone who may not seem to deserve it. And most importantly, be kind to yourself, because you, too are someone who needs care and compassion.
