Capitalizing on The Recent AI Trend As Students


   ChatGPT is here to change the world. AI will erase the human race. GPT-4 will replace human jobs.


Have you heard any of these phrases? Or are you still in the dark? 




Nonetheless, the recent Artificial Intelligence trend introduces fears into the heart of the human race. Several theories of how AI will revolutionize the world keep coming up. So, what's the next step? As students, we must understand what we must do to capitalize on this trend.




AI can never replace humans.


Yes, they can improve our creativity- but replace us? Never! Still, there is a clause. AI will never replace us if we capitalize on its trend. So, let me show you how to capitalize on this as a student.


There are several ways we can capitalize on Artificial Intelligence as students. They include:


1.     Developing AI skills


As students, we can learn AI skills by taking courses in languages like Python, machine learning and deep learning algorithms. Also, students can participate in AI competitions, open-source projects and hackathons to gain experience developing AI applications.



2.    AI specialization


Students can even specialize in AI by pursuing a degree in computer science, data science or AI-related fields. With this, learning more about Artificial intelligence and capitalizing on it will be easy.



3.    AI in a specific field of study


One of the best ways to capitalize on AI as a student is to incorporate AI into your study. Are you studying Law? Use AI algorithms to find evidence, rules and justifications permissible in the court of Law. 


As an Agric student, you can develop AI algorithms to check out soil fertility, keep track of your crops and even diagnose diseases on the farm.



4.    AI internships and Job opportunities


Many AI companies will soon emerge, and they'll need interns. It's a good opportunity to learn about this next phase of life, network with like-minded people and explore its solutions. 


The internships will provide the valuable experience you'll need to interact in real life. Besides, you can attend AI conferences and workshops to know the latest trends and connect with people.



5.   Connect with AI resources.


Students can read books, blogs, podcasts, and articles written by AI experts. Also, following AI influencers on social media and attending conferences will help to stay updated and evolve.


 

 

Bottom line



Working smarter, not harder, is a common phrase to become more experienced and stay ahead of others. AI is here to make us smarter as students, and it's our responsibility to capitalize on this trend. 


By capitalizing on AI, students can acquire valuable skills, gain practical experience, and position themselves for high-paying and rewarding careers in a growing industry.

AGRONOMY: A department of Winners

  Earlier today, 7th of November, 2025, Agronomy students experienced multiple wins in the Literary and Debating Organization for the Faculty of Agriculture, that is, the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society. The representatives of the department, Najimdeen Rabiu Ayomide (a 300-level Soil Resources Management Unit student) and Popoola Taiwo Abidat (a 200-level Soil Resources Management Unit student), emerged second position with 72.92% at Agri-Speak 3.0, organized by the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society. The Deputy Knight Commander of the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society, Kayode Grace from the Agronomy Department (a 500-level student of the Crop and Horticultural Sciences Unit), handed the position over to another person today. Popoola Taiwo Abidat will be the Deputy Knight Commander for the upcoming session.
