  Jaw War Postponed: Faculty of Agriculture Vs. Faculty of Education The Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan has postponed the opening ceremony of this year’s Jaw War Inter-hall and Inter-Faculty competition by 24 hours. The postponement of the highly anticipated and competitive public speaking event was announced in a statement signed by the society’s President, Neyen Williams on Sunday evening. “The decision to shift the starting date from Monday to Tuesday was reached based on the requests we received from hundreds of enthusiastic supporters who are currently not in school because of the Easter holiday,” the society noted in the statement. The Faculty of Agriculture will be competing against the Faculty of Education in this War. With less than 30% of solid waste properly disposed of, waste management in the country is becoming alarming every day. Plastics are durable, lightweight, and inexpensive, which has led to their widespread use in a variety of products. However, these same properties also make plastic difficult to degrade, and as a result, plastic waste can persist in the environment for centuries.
