 IT IS MONDAY AGAIN

BY: Ummulkhayr

In most countries of the world, weekends start on Friday. It is afterwards, a jolly ride till Sunday. A lot of fun activities are slated to be on the weekends to relieve the body of the stress of the gone weekdays. That is probably why we have the ‘Owanbe’ on weekends (It could also be to allow more attendance). An average Nigerian would either be home sleeping on Saturday or out chilling with friends at ceremonies or parties. Although, we still have the workaholics who would still have meetings and appointment on weekends.

For a university student, weekends serve as a break away from the weekdays which are filled with 8 to 6 classes, assignments, tests, practical and everything a student will call stress. That is mostly why students look forward to weekends – free days with nothing to do.

As beautiful as the weekends are, the last day of the weekend – Sunday is when the flex ends. The groan that follows is “Uhh, Monday is here already.” Mondays are the dreaded days for many people. Sometimes, motivational words are needed to fight off the nagging feeling of impending loads of work. Still, some people love Mondays because it is a new beginning and a promise of hope to do better.

Mondays can be seen more positively if one plans the week ahead from the weekend. This gives clarity of purpose. It also helps to improve positivity and productivity. Mondays can be a step to the week’s goal if used together with the weekends.

We would talk about how weekends can help boost the weekdays’ productivity in the next article on productivity.
