Warm Welcome!

As the festive season comes to an end, we begin a new and exciting journey - entering into a brand new year along with a new semester. Despite its short span, I  hope it brought you moments of joy and rejuvenation.

As we start a fresh semester, let's leave behind any challenges faced in the previous year. Each day presents an opportunity for progress and success which requires courage and confidence to confront it. Remember, that your past experiences don't define you and we build up tomorrow by today's actions

We have an ideal chance to begin afresh, establishing objectives, devising strategies for achievement, following aspirations and drawing wisdom from errors made previously. We must endeavour towards progress by accepting greater duties beyond our accustomed spheres every day in the classroom or on digital interactions.

Keep in mind that education is essential for acquiring knowledge and building character, as well as preparing us for our future endeavors. So let's  make sure to take advantage of every opportunity presented! It's important to maintain a positive attitude when facing inevitable challenges because they can help foster personal growth towards becoming the best versions of ourselves.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for a balanced life. While the pursuit of knowledge is paramount, taking time to unwind at fun fair is equally important. Study hard, play in moderation, and strive to be the best version of yourself.

Get ready to kick off the excitement on January 13 as the games begin, promising a battle for supremacy. Following the exhilarating competition, join us at the colourful picnic on January 20. It's a testament to the dedication of our executive team, working tirelessly to make this semester an unforgettable experience.

So, welcome back! Here's to a semester filled with learning, laughter, success, and a sense of accomplishment. Let's support each other on this academic journey, creating a community that thrives on positivity and encouragement.

UI Soil Resources Management Department Records Achievement

  BY: Ademola Ifeoluwa  The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ibadan through the Department of Soil Resources Management, on the 29th of October, 2025, had an impressive milestone with the promotion of two of their lecturers from Doctorate  into the Professor rank.  Professor Eunice Thomas, is the first female Professor in the history of the department, since soil resources  management became a department. A move in history that has set a new era in the history of the department since its inception. She  is a lecturer at the Soil Chemistry Unit, whose rich knowledge and research work remain an inspiration among the students. Dr Julius Orimoloye of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning Unit has also been promoted to Professor. His promotion is a reward of his years of dedication, scholarly work, and benefitting the department and the university community. Congratulations to Professor Eunice Thomas and Professor Julius Orimoloye.

AGRONOMY: A department of Winners

  Earlier today, 7th of November, 2025, Agronomy students experienced multiple wins in the Literary and Debating Organization for the Faculty of Agriculture, that is, the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society. The representatives of the department, Najimdeen Rabiu Ayomide (a 300-level Soil Resources Management Unit student) and Popoola Taiwo Abidat (a 200-level Soil Resources Management Unit student), emerged second position with 72.92% at Agri-Speak 3.0, organized by the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society. The Deputy Knight Commander of the Vocal Knights Literary and Debating Society, Kayode Grace from the Agronomy Department (a 500-level student of the Crop and Horticultural Sciences Unit), handed the position over to another person today. Popoola Taiwo Abidat will be the Deputy Knight Commander for the upcoming session.
