ELECTION REPORT

 AGRONOMY CLUB ELECTION for 2022/2023 SESSION




The election for the new executives of the Agronomy Club was held on the 25th of May 2023. It was slated for 8 am to 3 pm.


The mode of voting was electronic, which accorded voters the privilege of voting from the comfort of their rooms. The election site started receiving responses as early as 08:05 AM and stopped around 03:00 PM. The Electoral Committee started the count of votes afterward.


The electoral committee of the department announced the results of the election at 09:42 AM on the 26th of May 2023. Ever since the conclusion of the election, some of the elected executives have been expressing their gratitude to the students of the Department, promising to do all in their capacity to meet up with expectations.


It is also worth noting the reaction of Miss. Aduragbemi Kolawole, an aspirant for the post of Health and Welfare Minister, who upon seeing the results of the election went ahead to congratulate her opponent, Miss. Afolabi Adedamola, who emerged as the winner of the election. Her opponent, who was elected, also confessed how much she celebrates her and admires her courage. This attitude is rare and is indeed worthy of emulation.



After the announcement of the results, the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Akanji Taiwo Daniel, also addressed the entire students in the department. He went ahead to express his profound gratitude to the students for their participation in the election. He also assured them of the fairness and transparency of the election process.


The president of the department, Mr. Sahid, also commended the electoral committee for conducting one of the best electoral processes in the history of the department. He continued his speech by congratulating the new executives and expressed his gratitude to the entire students for their participation in the voting process.


In addition, Hon. Yusuf Omotosho, the head of the 400L constituency also gave his congratulatory note to the elected executives. In his speech, he gave the executives necessary advice on how they can be successful in their leadership roles.


Percentage of participation in the election:

100 level - 12.8% 

200 level - 32.8%

300 level - 28.5%

400 level - 11.2%

500 level - 14.7%
